Power steering pump introduction and supplier

The power steering pump is driven by the engine to convert the low-pressure oil in the oil tank into high-pressure oil and deliver it to the steering control valve.

The role of power steering pump

  1. The power steering pump is the power source of the hydraulic power steering system. It uses the engine as the transmission medium to convert mechanical energy into hydraulic energy. The steering gear converts the hydraulic energy into mechanical energy through the hydraulic oil output by the oil pump, thereby reducing the driver's operation Strength, improve the maneuverability of the vehicle;.
  2. Control the internal pressure of the power steering pipeline through the pressure safety valve to ensure the safety of the steering system; 3. Control the flow of the steering system through the flow control valve to ensure the driver's steering feel when the vehicle is driving at high speed
    Classification of power steering pumps
  3. From the distribution models, it can be divided into: commercial vehicle steering pump and passenger vehicle steering pump.
  4. From the structure, it can be divided into: vane type steering pump, gear type steering pump, plunger type steering pump; among them, the double-acting vane type steering pump is used in various models due to its small size, low noise and high volumetric efficiency. Is widely adopted.
  1. According to the driving mode, it can be divided into: gear-driven steering pump, pulley-driven steering pump, and cross feather key (spline) steering pump; among them, the pulley-driven steering pump is mainly used to drive passenger cars with low torque. , Gear-driven and cross sliding key are more common in commercial vehicles.
The composition of the power steering pump
At present, automobile steering pumps are mostly double-acting vane steering pumps, which are mainly composed of ordinary double-acting vane pumps, flow control valves and pressure safety valves; double-acting vane pumps provide high-pressure oil, and flow control valves ensure that the steering pump output is suitable for the entire vehicle For the required flow rate, the pressure relief valve controls the maximum output pressure of the steering pump. For gasoline engines with low engine power, a pressure switch should also be equipped.

The working principle of power steering pump
As shown in the figure below, after the drive wheel drives the rotor to rotate, the blades expand under the action of centrifugal force, and form a working cavity with the stator, rotor, and oil distribution plate. When the rotor and blades move from the small arc area on the inner surface of the stator to the larger When the arc area rotates, the volume between the two blades increases and the pressure decreases, and oil is sucked through the oil suction port of the oil distribution plate; when the arc area is changed from the large arc area to the small arc area, the volume between the two blades decreases , The pressure increases, the oil is discharged through the oil discharge port of the pressure plate, and the discharged high-pressure oil enters the steering gear through the steering oil pipe to provide steering assistance.
